OSCE workshop with Medcam, Poznań, March 12, 2022,

The second day of the Second National Meeting of Medical Simulation Technicians “Simulation technician in simulation – profession of the future, didactics of the present” in Poznan was a day of intensive workshops and practical knowledge acquisition. Medcam was the organizer of the workshop on OSCE exams.

Participants in the OSCE workshop were invited to play the roles of Teachers and Students. Those who played the role of Students were tasked with performing 3 procedures provided to them by Teachers in the Medcam Student Panel using the tools they received. The Teachers’ task was to evaluate the Student according to the Evaluation Card assigned to the Student in the Teacher Panel of our system. As it turned out, the stress that students feel during the exam students, was also given to the participants of our workshop. After the OSCE mini-exam was over, they admitted that they did not expect such emotions and that they had made mistakes in such simple, as it would seem, tasks. Teachers were also surprised that assessing what they see in Medcam can be so simple and fun, but at the same time requires focus on the Student’s actions. The ability to easily return to an activity and change a previous decision proved very useful in several cases.

We hope that the impressions of the event will remain in the memory of the participants for a long time and inspire them to rethink and take on new and ambitious challenges. We, thanks to the experiences gathered at the Convention, have set ourselves some ambitious goals, for the realization of which we are keeping our fingers firmly crossed.
