Modern medical education as an answer to society’s health needs

The KRAUM conference entitled “Modern medical education in response to the health needs of society”, sponsored by Medcam, is behind us.

On Friday, April 21, 2023. Wroclaw Medical University hosted representatives of the polish Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Science and medical universities from across the country during the KRAUM conference entitled “Modern medical education as an answer to society’s health needs”, held at the WMU Faculty of Pharmacy. The main topic was standards for the education of doctors and other specialists in the medical profession. KRAUM is working on recommendations and a list of good practices, regarding this issue.

The conference was divided into four panels:

  • Standardization of the educational process
  • Interprofessional education
  • Modern education
  • Communication with the patient

One of the topics discussed was the Polish Ministry of Health’s plans to put more emphasis on e-service education and to raise the role of medical simulation centers.

The conference was summed up by the speech of the chairwoman of the team for the development of recommendations in medical education – Agnieszka Zimmermann, PhD, professor of the university from the Medical University of Gdansk. After the professor’s speech, participants worked in four working groups:

  • Main group – KRAUM’s recommendations regarding education in medical professions
  • Computerization of the didactic process
  • Didactic competencies
  • Educational quality procedures

A lot of changes are ahead of us, so Medcam Simulations Systems will actively support education in medical simulation and management of Simulation Centers.
