On March 11-12, 2022 in Poznań, under the slogan “Medical simulation – practical applications and technologies”, the 2ndNational Congress of Medical Simulation Technicians took place: “Simulation technician in simulation – a profession from the future, didactics of the present”. Its organizer was the Karol Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznań. The organizers of the meeting took up the challenge of creating an event for over 300 people associated with medical simulation and achieved full success in this field.
Our company took part in this event with great pleasure. On the first day, we presented our solutions to the participants of the Congress. The second day was a day of intensive workshops and gaining practical knowledge. Medcam was the organizer of the OSCE exam workshop.
Participants of the OSCE workshops were invited to play the roles of Teachers and Students. Those who took on the role of Students were to use the tools they received to perform 3 procedures made available to them by the Teachers in the Student Panel of the Medcam system. The task of the Teachers was to evaluate the student according to the Assessment Card assigned to a given Student in the Teacher Panel of our system. As it turned out, the stress experienced byStudents during the exam was also shared by the participants of our workshops. After completing the OSCE mini exam, they admitted that they did not expect such emotions and making mistakes in such seemingly simple tasks. The Teachers were also surprised that assessing what they see in the Medcam system can be so simple and enjoyable, but at the same time requires a focus on the Student’s activities. The ability to easily return to a given activity and change the previous decision turned out to be very useful in several cases.
We hope that the impressions from this event will remain in the memory of the participants for a long time and inspire them to reflect on and take up new, ambitious challenges. Thanks to the experience gathered during the Congress, we have set ourselves several ambitious goals, for the implementation of which we keep our fingers crossed.
